Entities and Cross-Service Relationships

Federation can represent entities whose fields are owned by different services. For example, an account service might own a user's identity information while an order service contributes order-related fields.

A shared entity identity allows the router to coordinate requests across subgraphs. Entity design therefore becomes an important part of distributed schema architecture.
