Federation does not eliminate coordination. It changes the form of coordination from centralized implementation to schema contracts.

Teams must agree on entity identifiers, field semantics, ownership, nullability, deprecation policies, and compatibility expectations.

A federated graph should therefore be treated as a product with explicit governance rather than simply a collection of independent schemas.
