Schema changes should be validated automatically before deployment. A CI pipeline can compare the proposed schema against the production schema and identify potentially breaking changes.

The pipeline can also validate that operations used by known clients continue to work against the proposed schema. This creates a feedback loop before incompatible changes reach production.
